Rolex Yacht-Master 126655 Black Dial on Rubber 2022

The Ref. 126655 represents the Yacht-Master's fullest expression in Everose gold — Rolex's proprietary 18k rose gold alloy, developed in-house for its resistance to fading and corrosion. Introduced as the definitive 40mm Yacht-Master in solid precious metal, the 126655 is powered by the Caliber 3235, Rolex's workhorse movement featuring a Chronergy escapement and a 70-hour power reserve — a meaningful advance over the 3135 it replaced. The bidirectional Triplock crown, screw-down caseback, and 100-metre water resistance are standard, but the ceramic bezel — unusual for a precious-metal Yacht-Master — gives the reference a sportier, more legible character than its predecessors.

This example pairs the black dial with the Oysterflex rubber bracelet, which is the configuration that makes the most sense for the reference. The Oysterflex — a metal blade architecture encased in high-performance elastomer — wears with the security of a bracelet and the comfort of a strap, and on an Everose case it reads as a deliberate choice rather than a compromise. Against the warm gold of the case, the black dial absorbs light in a way that photographs consistently understate; in hand, the contrast is sharper and more considered than any image suggests.
