Rolex Sea-Dweller Deepsea 116660 Black Dial on Stainless Steel 2013
Description
The Ref. 116660 Sea-Dweller Deepsea arrived in 2008 as Rolex's most technically ambitious dive watch — a 44mm stainless steel case engineered to withstand 3,900 metres of pressure, nearly four times the depth rating of the standard Sea-Dweller. That capability rests on the Ringlock System: a nitrogen-alloyed steel ring inside the case that absorbs compressive force, paired with a 5.5mm-thick sapphire crystal and a helium escape valve. The movement is Rolex's Calibre 3135, a self-winding manufacture movement with a Parachrom hairspring and a COSC-certified rate — the same proven architecture that runs through the professional Oyster line. At 44mm it wears large, but the case proportions are deliberate rather than gratuitous; the depth engineering demands the real estate.
This example presents on a black dial with dot and baton indices — the configuration the reference was designed around, and the one that reads most cleanly against the ceramic bezel's graduated scale. The serial prefix dates production to 2013, placing it squarely in the mid-run before the reference was retired in favour of the updated 126660. Under direct light the dial has a depth that photographs consistently flatten; it rewards the wrist more than the listing image suggests. Condition across case, bracelet, bezel, and crystal is very good, with only faint signs of wear consistent with careful use.
Offered in very good condition as a full set with box and open card papers dated 2013.
