The Panthère de Cartier is among the most consequential designs in the maison's history — a watch that defined a certain kind of Cartier confidence when it was reintroduced in 2017 after a long absence, and one that has since reasserted itself as the house's most architecturally distinctive bracelet watch. The small reference WGPN0059 is the 27mm version in 18k yellow gold, powered by an automatic movement and finished with a white dial set with Roman numerals in the tradition Cartier has maintained since the earliest Panthère references of the 1980s. The case and integrated bracelet are constructed as a single flowing form — the links graduating in a way that makes the boundary between case and bracelet deliberately ambiguous, which is the whole point.

Yellow gold is the correct metal for this reference. White gold reads cooler and more restrained; the yellow softens the geometry and gives the dial's warm white ground something to answer. Roman numerals on white is the cleaner, more resolved configuration — the dial doesn't compete with itself. In hand, the bracelet moves with a suppleness that photographs consistently understate.
