Cartier Colisée 1902 White Dial on Leather
Description
The Cartier Colisée belongs to the Must de Cartier lineage — a family conceived in the 1970s to bring Cartier's design language to a broader audience without compromising the house's formal vocabulary. Ref. 1902 is the lady's expression of that program: 24mm, silver-cased, and finished in vermeil, the gold-over-silver technique that gives Must pieces their particular warmth without the weight of solid gold. The quartz movement is period-correct and entirely appropriate here; the Colisée was never about mechanical complexity. It was about proportion, the Roman numeral chapter ring, and the sapphire cabochon crown — the detail that signals Cartier more quietly than any logo.
This example presents on a leather strap with a white dial, which is the right choice. A white dial against the silver case reads cleaner than the champagne alternatives, letting the Roman numerals carry the composition without competition. The sapphire crystal protects a dial that has held up well — in hand, the white lacquer still has the flat, even quality that photographs consistently understate. Offered in very good condition throughout, with signs of wear that are hardly visible on the glass, case, bracelet, and bezel.
In very good condition. Watch only.
