Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 15500ST.OO.1220ST.04 White Dial on Bracelet

The 15500ST is the reference that settled the question of what the Royal Oak should be in its fifth decade. Introduced in 2022 as the direct successor to the 15400ST, it brought Caliber 4302 — a movement built on the 3120 architecture but with an extended 60-hour power reserve and revised finishing standards — into a case that finally resolved the proportional tension the 41mm Royal Oak had carried since the 15400 arrived. The octagonal bezel, hand-finished alternating brushed and polished surfaces, and integrated bracelet remain the grammar Gerald Genta established in 1972; the 15500ST is simply the most resolved execution of that grammar to date.

The white dial — AP refers to it as silver — is the configuration that rewards the most attention. Against the tapisserie petit-carré pattern, the white ground reads with a cool, almost architectural clarity that the more common blue and grey dials don't quite achieve; the applied hour markers and Royal Oak hands sit in sharper relief, and the whole surface shifts register as the light moves across it in a way that no photograph has yet managed to capture honestly. The full set is offered in excellent condition, with all components showing very good condition and hardly visible signs of wear throughout — case, bracelet, bezel, and dial included.
