Patek Philippe Nautilus 4700/1 White Dial on Stainless Steel & Yellow Gold
Description
The Ref. 4700/1 belongs to the earliest chapter of the Nautilus story. Patek Philippe introduced the Nautilus in 1976 — Gerald Genta's porthole-inspired design that made integrated steel sports watches a serious proposition — and the 4700 series was the ladies' counterpart to the original 3700/1, sharing the same architectural language in a 27mm case sized for a different wrist. The two-tone configuration in 18k yellow gold and stainless steel, with a yellow gold bezel, was among the first expressions of the reference and remains the most visually complete argument for what the Nautilus was always trying to be: a luxury sports watch that wore its materials without apology.
This example carries a white dial with index hour markers — the cleaner of the dial options, and the one that lets the horizontally embossed Nautilus pattern read without competition. At 27mm, the watch sits close to the wrist in a way that photographs consistently understate; the integrated bracelet in steel and gold draws the case into the arm rather than sitting on top of it. The two-tone bracelet, combining stainless steel links with yellow gold accents, has aged in the way only genuine mixed-metal construction does — each material holding its own character across decades.
Offered in very good condition across case, dial, crystal, bezel, bracelet, and caseback, with box only.
