Description

The 5168G-010 arrived in 2018 as Patek Philippe's statement that the Aquanaut could carry genuine horological weight in a larger case. Where the 5167A established the 40mm format in steel, the 5168G pushed the reference to 42.2mm and moved it into white gold — a combination that repositions the Aquanaut from sporting alternative to something closer to a dress watch that happens to be water-resistant. The movement is Caliber 324 S C, a self-winding micro-rotor construction with a date at three and sweep seconds, regulated to Patek Philippe's exacting tolerances and finished to a standard that the case size makes visible through the sapphire caseback.

The khaki green dial is the configuration that defines this reference. Against the blue and black variants, the green reads with more restraint in daylight and more depth under artificial light — the embossed "Tropical" pattern absorbs and releases color differently depending on the angle, something a photograph consistently undersells. White gold suits it better than rose gold would; the cooler metal lets the dial speak rather than warming it toward something more conventional. The rubber strap, integrated to the case in the Aquanaut's characteristic way, keeps the wrist feel relaxed despite the precious metal.

Offered in excellent condition with box and papers, warranty dated 2022. Serviced through 09/10/2026.
